 Introduced in 1999 Asterisk is the most popular VOIP PBX, able to install on most versions of LINUX.(11MB) Asterisk is a command line application with several open source web-based GUI's available. Asterisk acts like a traditional PBX by routing all calls via the Asterisk server and is capable of handling various connection formats (SIP, H.323, etc.).

Summary:
Vasuntu is a VOIP PBX. It offers connectivity to the PSTN and internet world. It also has a Skype channel. Vasuntu is the acronym for Voiceone, Asterisk and Skype on Ubuntu.
This release is a live installable CD. Booting from the CD allows you to test drive the software and allows you to install the software to your PC if you choose to.

sipXecs is a complete SIP solution with a built-in web-based GUI. sipXecs only supports SIP.

FreeSwitch

Summary:
FreeSWITCH is an open source telephony platform designed to facilitate the creation of voice and chat driven products scaling from a soft-phone up to a soft-switch. It can be used as a simple switching engine, a PBX, a media gateway or a media server to host IVR applications using simple scripts or XML to control the callflow.

FreeSWITCH builds natively and runs standalone on several operating systems including Windows, Max OS X, Linux, BSD and Solaris on both 32 and 64 bit platforms.

SIP Express Router (SER) is a high-performance, configurable, free SIP server licensed under the open-source GNU license . It can act as SIP (RFC 3261) registrar, proxy or redirect server. SER can be configured to serve specialized purposes such as load balancing or SIP front-end to application servers, SEMS for example. Together with the RTPproxy software it can act as media relay or Session Border Controller.
